Welcome to Newport Beach
Coastal city with great beaches, shops, and restaurants.
Newport Beach is an affluent and highly desirable Orange County coastal city with 10 miles of gorgeous coastline, a large pleasure harbor, and world-class shopping and dining. Newport Harbor homes over 9,000 vessels, making it one of the largest recreational harbors in the United States. Several man-made islands in the harbor are covered with stunning luxury homes. Gorgeous mainland neighborhoods such as Broadmoor, Harbor View, and Corona del Mar offer beautiful properties with mesmerizing views. Home styles within these neighborhoods range from cozy beach bungalows to lavish estates.
Corona del Mar Village is a charming shopping and dining destination with boutique stores and outstanding restaurants.
Five Crowns is a long-time staple of the Corona del Mar dining scene, serving delicious steaks and seafood in a faithful recreation of one of England’s oldest country inns.
The Beachcomber Café on the beachfront at Crystal Cove serves a wide-ranging menu of delicious food from breakfast to dinner. With over 180 restaurants and retailers, Newport Beach’s
Fashion Island is Orange County’s premier shopping destination. Businesses here include Bloomingdale’s, Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom, Whole Foods Market, dozens of stylish upscale clothing stores, and excellent restaurants serving all kinds of international cuisine.
Newport Beach’s coastline features 20 distinct beaches. Newport Municipal Beach is typically the most popular, with surfers and sunbathers flocking to this sandy stretch running both sides of Newport Pier. The long sand-dune-covered stretch of Balboa Peninsula Beach tends to be quieter. Balboa Fun Zone on Balboa Pier has thrilling rides and a 1930s Ferris wheel providing spectacular views. At the end of Balboa Beach, skilled surfers gather to tackle the famous waves of The Wedge. Quieter secluded spots such as China Cove and Pirate Cove beaches can be found nestled along the coastline.
Located to Newport Beach’s south, Crystal Cove State Park features 3.2 miles of natural beachfront and an almost 4,000-acre expanse of inland chaparrals and conversation areas. During the spring and summer, boats set off from Newport Beach to take in the incredible sight of hundreds of
migrating giant blue whales. Other annual events include April’s
Newport Beach Film Festival, a week-long event featuring gala premieres and hundreds of film screenings.
